What's My Story?
My story is not much different from many other women. I began my professional career as a nurse and got married when I was 26.
We were married for 22 years. For a long time, I didn’t talk about why I left him. I was embarrassed that I stayed married to this man, who was pleasant and nice in public but was emotionally and mentally abusive at home.
It has taken time and effort, but I’ve healed. I have a strong mind, am financially stable, relationally healthy, and above all, happy. God gave me the strength and grace to raise emotionally healthy children who make me proud.
I’m happier and more connected than I’ve ever been. I’ve grown to appreciate the blessings that come with each day and the knowledge that I’m never alone.

Many years ago, I was the head of an outpatient clinic for disabled children. We had a special education teacher who was part of my staff.
